Unlike other sports that involve a clear countermovement (down, then up) in their jumps, swimmers need to generate power and force from more static positions—like pushing off the blocks or walls during turns. 🏊‍♀️ SWIMMING POWER: Why We Train Concentric Strength 💪

In swimming, the harder and faster you push off the wall, the more drag (resistance) you create. 

Bands and chains can simulate and train that effect on land. The closer an athlete gets to the top of the squat, for example, the more resistance there is. This is great for building sustained strength and power through full range of motion.
